The Gingerbread Cottage
Not just a room -
a complete colonial cottage for your exclusive use!.
The Gingerbread Cottage was built 110 years ago and 15km from Westbury. It was a two room farm labourer's cottage in the township of Whitemore when Ruth and Colin Clarke, antique dealers in Westbury, decided to purchase and relocate it to a site adjacent to their antique store.
During the restoration they sourced various salvers of
old buildings to construct the kitchen, bathroom/laundry and verandahs
in keeping with the original part of the cottage. In 1997 The Gingerbread
Cottage won a Statewide award from the "Keep Australia Beautiful Council" for
the Best Cultural/Heritage Preservation.
The Gingerbread Cottage features a queen bedroom and loungeroom with a cosy gas log fire.
